Protexin Pro Fibre

Profibre is a pelleted product for addition to the daily food of dogs & cats.

Containing fibre from several sources. Many modern dog or cat foods and methods of feeding often leave the dog or cat with insufficient fibre in its diet which may lead to alimentary problems, especially in the hind gut. It is suggested in some cases that impaction of the anal glands may be the result of insufficient dietary fibre.

The beneficial microorganisms contained in this product occur naturally in the gut of all healthy animals. Probiotics colonise the gut and help exclude potentially pathogenic bacteria. The fibre content of Pro-Fibre is multi-sourced and comprises both digestible and indigestible components. Higher fibre diets produce an increase in stool diameter which is important in triggering the emptying of the analsacs during defaecation.

Pellet Contents

Pro-Fibre is a palatable pellet containing:

• Multi-source fibre
  High levels of both soluble and insoluble fibre with new fibre sources including psyllium and sugar beet pulp. Pro-Fibre now has higher levels of dietary fibre (45%) to help bulk the stools out.
• Probiotics
  The EU-registered probiotic Enterococcus faecium (NCIMB 10415) E1707, to help repopulate the intestine with beneficial micro-organisms.
• Preplex prebiotics
  A prebiotic, consisting of fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) and acacia (Gum arabic), to feed and stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria.
• Artificial beef flavouring
  To improve palatability and compliance.

Given daily, Pro-Fibre can help to promote efficient digestion and avoid the problems associated with insufficient dietary fibre.

Feeding Guide

Add to the daily food for as long as considered necessary or as advised by your veterinary surgeon (measure enclosed).
